Okay guys, problem solved so I'll let y'all know here in case you're looking for the same thing. I'm not sure about drury's link in this thread, seems legit but more difficult than the solution I found. So instead of putting patch1.06.big into the Zero Hour folder and running it with command line arguments like the site says, instead just put it straight into the data folder and the game will launch into 1.06 with no command line needed. Then just move the.big file if you ever wanna go back to 1.04. Well Ultimate Collection is a pretty good deal I guess, no reason not to use with the launchers. CnC4 was a misstep, yes, and firing the devs because of it was also a bad move (they made CnC3 and RA3 after all, both excellent games).
